Peak charger

A Peak charger monitors the voltage at the battery terminals and shuts off Battery charging when the battery voltage stops raising and begins to fall: a sign that the battery has reached full charge.

Peak chargers prevent overcharging in NiCad/NiMH cells. Specialized lithium battery chargers also use peak detection.
