Power
From Combat Robot
Power is the physical quantity defined as unit work per unit time. Units of power include Watts (W) and Horsepower (HP).
1 W = 1 J/s
745.7 W = 1 HP
The total power in an ideal system remains constant with gearing. This means that one cannot gear a motor to have more power, but only greater torque or angular velocity. It is erroneous to state something such as "the drivetrain should be geared for power, not speed". What is likely intended is "the drivetrain should be geared for more torque, not speed".
