The Hall was established by Mark Joerger in 2003 to honor the top combat robots of all time. Robots are evaluated based on:

  • Dominating success in combat;
  • Pioneering or perfecting influential designs;
  • Having great fan or entertainment appeal; or
  • Otherwise making a lasting impact on the sport.

Entry into the hall is by vote of the robot builder community, with ballots taken in August of odd-numberd years. As of the 2009 voting, 34 robots achieved full membership in the Hall with another 25 earning honorable mention status.

The Combat Robot Hall of Fame is an independent trademarked entity and is not affiliated with BattleBots, Robot Wars, or the RFL.
